"IT'S HARD TO BEAT A PERSON WHO NEVER GIVES UP"

The trailer was scheduled to be delivered to my Dad's house on Camano Island in the middle of February. My dad had a long gravel driveway making the arrival of the trailer dramatic. I can still remember watching that trailer pulled up the long gravel driveway, it dwarfed the pick-up truck that pulled it. I thought to myself, WOW this is bigger than I remembered it being in that field.

The previous owner carefully backed the trailer in tight next to my Dad's garage. The trailer was 10 ft 2’’ tall and as high as the garage roof. I held my breath as he backed it up, hoping he wouldn’t damage my Dad’s roof. This would be the trailer’s home for the next 3 months.

Jill, my only female friend (besides my sis) who could recognize which tool was a power drill and hold it without looking awkward, was on board for helping clear out the inside of the trailer. We worked side by side, removing rotten walls, tearing up the decaying wood floors & removing all the insulation.

Garry the landscaper was right in the mix. He graciously came out to Camano Island and volunteered his time power washing away the years of grime and grit, getting it ready for its new life.
