Jill Turns 48
My wife, Jill celebrated her 48th birthday this weekend. As we sat around a camp fire I asked her what she learned in her 47th year. Her answers were reflective & heart felt.
After careful consideration she said, “I’m learning how to take better care of myself. I’m learning how to say NO more often. I’m learning how to accept the mundane days and find comfort in them.”
I’ve always admired Jill’s deep self reflection and her desire to know herself better.
During our grand opening party Jill made a speech and her words have stayed with many of us who witnessed it. She said, “We built this space to inspire others, it’s a place for you all to be seen & heard. Look around you, those here are in your community. These are your people. Introduce yourselves and meet each other.”
When we live in a society that is starved for deep meaning conversation and the attention of a listening ear. Places like she described above become medicine for a community.
Jills specialty coffee bar, slated to open this fall, will be another place you will feel seen & heard. A place that inspires. A place filled with your community. I place that feels like home because of Jill’s attention to details. And above all else Medicine for our community.
“Be Present Be Love”
Happy Birthday Honey. We are lucky to be in life with you.
